Mequon Anniversary Session - Joleena Lyn & Matt
Anniversary sessions are by far my favorite kind of session. The images are usually for no greater purpose than for the couple to have to document their journey. There's no considering what other people (insert family, friends, the internet, etc) wish you would do or having the perfect shot for save the dates or what have you. I think I'm pretty darn good at lightening the mood on those sessions where you are considering outside of yourselves but it's invigorating when that is not even a consideration.
More couples should do anniversary sessions. The reasons couples don't are in the many. They think they don't look good in photos.
They don't think they would look at them.
They don't want to spend the money.
They think people will think they are selfish.
They think too much.
Don't you love looking back on photos of your parents or your grandparents when they were in their heyday? Or looking through your childhood photos and seeing how much you've evolved? If you're not going to take photos for yourself - take them for your future self and your kids (if you're into those things). It will be well worth the 5 minutes of "what the hell am I doing" and I promise you'll want to come back the next year.
These guys have 8 years together.
"When I say ‘I love you,’ it’s not because I want you or because I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You’re a hell of a woman. You’re the one."
